During Slush week, deeptech founders, investors and ecosystem leaders will gather at the Embassy of Estonia in Helsinki. Sparkup Tartu Science Park is taking part in the Deep x Wild side event alongside its partners, and several teams from the first cohort of the DeepTech Accelerator will take the stage on the night.
Estonia’s deeptech scene is gaining real momentum. Skeleton Technologies has become the country’s first deep tech hardware unicorn, and a new generation of founders is turning breakthroughs in robotics, AI, defense and advanced materials into globally ambitious companies. But getting from the lab to scale takes more than great science. It takes the right people, commercial vision and the courage to think big.
The evening opens with remarks from Janne Jõesaar-Ruusalu, Ambassador of Estonia to Finland. A panel titled “The missing co-founder: Building deeptech teams from lab to scale” will explore how to build teams that can take research to market, with speakers including Ahti Heinla, CEO of Starship Technologies.
Sparkup Tartu Science Park, Tehnopol and Adapter will then introduce their work, followed by pitches from the DeepTech Accelerator’s first cohort companies.
The teams pitching from the DeepTech Accelerator’s first cohort are Apsynora, DCR Technologies, HiveNavigator, ÖSEEN and Voltorque. NatureBond will join for the networking session.
The night continues with networking, an expo, and a DJ set by HOL Sisters.
