DeepTech Afternoon: From Lab to Market

This DeepTech Afternoon is designed for early-stage deep tech founders and research-driven teams who are building companies out of science and technology. Whether you have already applied to the Deep Tech Accelerator or are considering applying in future rounds, this event will help you better understand what it takes to move from research to a scalable business.

The focus is on bridging the gap between technology and real market needs — how to validate your idea, avoid common early-stage mistakes, and build a team and roadmap that investors and accelerators are actually looking for. The session is practical, honest, and based on real startup experience.

7th of May at 4 pm at Deta office (Narva mnt 20, Tartu)

During the session, we will cover:

  • What makes deep tech startups different from traditional startups
  • How to move from technology to a clearly defined market problem
  • The most common mistakes in the early stages
  • What investors and accelerators expect from teams
  • What your next 3–6 months should realistically look like

The session will conclude with an open Q&A, giving participants the chance to ask specific questions and get direct feedback.

Session led by Tauri Kärson, an experienced startup leader and mentor. He is the founder and CEO of Supercomms and a key mentor at the Tehnopol Startup Incubator, where he supports technology companies on their growth journey. Previously, he has led several companies and has hands-on experience in business development, product development, and fundraising.
