Defence Business Lab

The pre-accelerator programme Defence Business Lab welcomes deep tech startup founders and team members whose company has a technology readiness level (TRL) of 3 or higher.
The programme aims to support further development of the company’s technology and enable testing in real-world environments. Its ultimate goal is to prepare teams to successfully apply to the NATO DIANA accelerator or the European Defence Fund (EDF) programmes.
The programme is suited for teams with an innovative solution to defence and security challenges, a TRL of at least 3, and readiness to further develop and test their solution in real-world environments.
The programme includes:
- a €5,000 grant to support development and innovation;
- a pre-accelerator programme with intensive training led by experts;
- a structured 3-month programme focused on in-depth guidance and development;
- mentorship with up to 8 hours of one-on-one support from top experts;
- access to a strong network, providing contacts and resources to bring your idea into real-world use.
The programme consists of four learning modules and concludes with a demo day, where teams receive feedback on their progress. The best applicants selected during the admission round will join the 3-month intensive programme.

The programme is delivered by Sparkup Tartu Science Park and Tehnopol Startup Incubator, and funded in Estonia by the Ministry of Defence.
