After the Defence Business Lab accelerator, we’ve been catching up with teams to see how their journeys have evolved. This time, we spoke with C2Grid – a company developing situational awareness and 3D data processing solutions that support both defence and civilian operations.
What are your team’s main challenges after completing the accelerator?
After the accelerator, we focused primarily on raising investment and further developing our product. At the start of the program, we were still in many ways at the beginning of our journey – today, we have a solid team and a clear plan. The main challenge now is to maintain our momentum and organise our work so we can accelerate development and bring the product to market as soon as possible.
How has your vision or business model evolved or been refined since the accelerator?
Overall, we’re moving in the same direction, but our vision has become much clearer. We’ve gained a deeper understanding of the potential applications of our technology and confirmed that there’s real interest in our solution from both the defence and civilian sectors. New partnership opportunities and ideas continue to emerge on an ongoing basis.
What specific results have you achieved since completing the accelerator?
We’re in the final stages of closing a pre-seed investment round with several investors – an important step forward for us. The funding will allow us to take our product to the next level and prepare for a broader market entry. We’ve also continued developing our MVP in collaboration with defence partners and received valuable feedback from both Ukrainian frontline units and various Estonian partners.
What kind of support or resources do you currently need the most?
We’re growing our team and looking for developers to maintain our current development pace. At the same time, we’re seeking new partners and clients to test our solution and continue improving it based on real operational needs.
Has your team collaboration changed since the accelerator?
During the accelerator, we worked part-time, but with the new resources, we can now dedicate ourselves to the company full-time. This has given us a sharper focus, better organisation, and faster results.
Where do you see yourselves in five years?
In five years, we see ourselves as a leading player in the field of situational awareness and 3D data processing solutions. Our technology will help automate operational planning, monitoring, and potentially support the use of unmanned systems. C2Grid’s mission is to accelerate decision-making and operational processes across both defence and civilian domains.
What advice would you give to future participants of the Defence Business Lab accelerator?
Being proactive is half the battle. The accelerator provides an excellent opportunity to test your ideas, build connections, and find the right direction – make the most of it.
The defence technology pre-accelerator is run by Tehnopol Startup Incubator and Sparkup Tartu Science Park. The programme is funded by the Ministry of Defence and supported by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications. The final stage, the demo day, will take place in September and focuses on the teams’ readiness to take their next steps on international markets.
