Forest, Soil and Biodiversity Greentech Accelerator – a growth platform for climate tech startups
The Forest, Soil and Biodiversity Greentech Accelerator is a two-phase development program designed to help early-stage greentech startups bring innovative solutions to market in the fields of forestry, soil health, biodiversity, and land use. The program targets teams with scalable business models and a clear ambition to create positive environmental impact.
Tartu Science Park is the program’s implementation partner in Estonia, supporting teams throughout the entire process, providing access to a mentor network, and connecting participants with local development and piloting opportunities.

What does the program offer?
The accelerator supports startup growth and helps teams progress from idea to working prototype. It offers hands-on support in product development, business model validation, and preparing for pilot projects. Each team can access up to €30,000 worth of business and technology development services.
Participation in the program is free of charge for startups.
What is the program’s focus?
Smart solutions in forestry and land use
Preservation and restoration of biodiversity and soil health
Reducing climate impact and protecting ecosystems
Testing and piloting climate tech solutions in Estonia
How is the program structured?
Pre-accelerator (January – February 2025)
At least 15 teams will join the pre-accelerator. During this phase, teams will develop detailed project plans and assess the market potential and scalability of their ideas. Each team is paired with a personal mentor, and workshops are held on business models, sales, finances, and pitching.
Main program (March – October 2025)
The top five teams from the pre-accelerator will enter the 8-month main program. They will develop prototypes, prepare pilot projects, and carry them out. The program includes intensive workshops, group mentoring, and results evaluation based on each team’s personalized development plan.
Who are the participating companies?
The following companies are currently participating in the main program:
Wemel Wood – replacing plastic with renewable materials in the electronics industry
Mati Foods – delicious and sustainable meat alternatives made from mycelium
Alleverde – peat-free growth media based on local biomass
Gens – tools and services for advancing regenerative agriculture
Klareva – feed and natural fertilizer produced from food industry waste using black soldier flies
Tartu Science Park’s role
