REAVES - Resilient Ecosystems for AV&M Entrepreneurial Support
Tartu Science Park is a partner in the international cooperation project REAVES (Resilient Ecosystems for AV&M Entrepreneurial Support), which aims to strengthen the creative industry ecosystems in the Baltic Sea region, with a special focus on the audiovisual and music sectors.
The REAVES platform brings together 14 partners from 11 countries, including Germany, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Poland, Lithuania, and Estonia. Led by BGZ Berlin International Cooperation Agency GmbH, the project is funded by the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme 2021–2027, with a total budget of €1,196,860 — €957,488 of which is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.

Although the creative industries are often treated as a single sector, their sub-sectors vary greatly — for example, the needs of an opera house differ significantly from those of a game studio or a pop music group. These distinctions often lead to fragmentation, with parallel but uncoordinated efforts across sectors. REAVES tackles this by integrating the outcomes of 22 previous EU projects and building a joint support platform tailored to the needs of the audiovisual and music industry entrepreneurs — especially young creatives who incorporate technology in their work and business models.
The project aims to foster collaboration across sectors and regions, support young talent, and enhance public sector engagement in strengthening the creative economy. By aligning goals and pooling resources, the project contributes to resilient, innovation-driven ecosystems where creative businesses can grow and thrive.
REAVES is part of the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme 2021–2027 under the priority “Cooperation Governance”, which aims to strengthen cross-border strategic collaboration and develop macro-regional strategies.
Tartu Science Park contributes to the project with its long-standing experience in business development and startup support. Our goal is to foster the emergence of strong creative companies in Estonia with international potential — companies capable of developing, scaling, and exporting their ideas. Tartu offers an ideal environment for creative entrepreneurship, combining the intellectual potential of a university city, a vibrant startup community, and networks that support innovation and creativity.
Project duration: July 2025 – December 2027
