Flying Forward 2020 is a 3-year collaborative project aimed at exploring topics related to Urban Air Mobility (UAM) to better organize drone services in future urban settings.
The project involves active engagement with developers, service providers, and end-users, as well as testing new solutions in five living labs: Tartu, Eindhoven, Milan, Oulu, and Zaragoza. Through these tests, existing and future requirements, regulations, and legislation will be refined to ensure safety and develop and harmonize processes and tools essential for service providers. The ultimate goal is to develop a functional collaboration model enabling flexible, sustainable, and impactful urban drone services.
Project outcomes:
1. Development of suitable and easily scalable infrastructure
2. Mapping, creation, and improvement proposals for drone-related regulations
3. Raising awareness about urban drone traffic management
4. Mapping end-user value chains and testing market-oriented solutions
Partners: The project involves 12 organizations from 7 countries.
