Joan Zhang Joan Zhang is the general manager of Finland-China (FinChi) Innovation Center and has more than ten years of professional experience developing soft-landing and accelerating support for Finnish companies and partners. She has been deeply involved with Finnish companies’ strategy planning and executions with many successful company growth references in China. She also has a profound understanding of China’s local regulations and policies in serving Finnish companies to the best extent.

Ilkka Kauppinen In addition to herbs, Ilkka is passionate about wilderness, which is his second home. Ilkka has over 15 years of experience in internet marketing and seven years of experience of leading a company from the middle of nowhere to become one of the hottest superfood company in Finland with increasing export. Ilkka’s favourite is our PUHTI Honey Shot as he doesn’t like to put the additive-laden processed energy gels.

Martin Flink Martin is an Export Sales Manager at Salvest Ltd. with a demonstrated history of working in the food production industry. Responsible for the Finnish, Russian and Chinese markets. Salvest Ltd. is one of Estonia’s most prominent food production companies, producing almost 200 different products, of which more than 30% is organic.  Iida ViholainenIida is working today for sustainable multipurpose forests in international development and co-operation projects at the Finnish Forest Centre. FFC is a state-funded organization covering the whole country. They are tasked with promoting forestry and related livelihoods and entrepreneurs, advising landowners on how to care for and benefit from their forests and the ecosystems therein, collecting and sharing data related to Finland’s forests, an enforcing forestry legislation.

Ilona Vanaga Ilona (ilona.vanaga@silvexpo.lv) represents a phytopharmaceutical company LTD “Silv EXPO” from Latvia with more than a decade of experience in the field of natural product research and innovation. With the focus on Baltic conifer needle extractives and modern end-product forms in the health industry, Ilona is ready to share the company’s know-how regarding premium product development and launch into export. As clinical research and real-world product testing are Ilona’s passions, you can expect a talk that touches upon the technological aspects of the developments, as well as the product efficacy trials on volunteers.

Pekka Oinas Prof. Pekka Oinas (pekka.oinas@aalto.fi) from the School of Chemical Engineering at Aalto University has an extensive experience in chemical industry and academy. His research group of Plant design concentrates on design concepts for sustainable, bio-based processes, inherent safety and scale-up of processes and unit operations.

Oliwer Śliczniuk Doctoral Candidate Oliwer Śliczniuk (oliwer.sliczniuk@aalto.fi) from the School of Chemical Engineering at Aalto University is working in the Plant Design Group lead by prof. Pekka Oinas. His research interests are focused on the supercritical extraction process, it’s design, modelling, optimization and techno-economic assessment.

Rafael Jimenez Rafael holds a Physics M.Sc.  Has spent over a decade in China; lead the Business Advisor team for EU companies under the European Union Project, EU SME Centre. Returned to the EU in June 2018, and since then works for Enterprise Estonia as advisor for exports to China. Rafael has three sons, writes often about China Economics, and is author or co-author of numerous reports of reference regarding the Chinese market.
